In 1965, John P. Nolan opened Nolan Funeral Home at the site of his childhood home at 2316 Providence Avenue in Chester, Pennsylvania. As the business grew, John Nolan partnered with his long-time friend, Frank J. Fidale to form Nolan-Fidale to meet the funeral needs of the area's growing population.

John's daughter, Andrea H. Nolan, joined the family business in 1989, thus beginning the second generation of funeral directors. Andrea's husband, Ronald V. Bohenek, joined Nolan-Fidale as a funeral director in 2000. The Nolan family mourned the untimely death of their dear friend and partner Frank Fidale in 2003.

Andrea and Ron expanded the family business by opening our now main location in Bethel Township, Delaware County in 2005 with state of the art facilities and services.

Serving the surrounding community with warmth, professionalism and integrity has been a hallmark of the Nolan-Fidale name. We look forward to offering our families innovative services that bridge physical distance and create personalized memorials from the heart in remembrance of loved ones for generations to come.

With decades of experience in healthcare leadership, Deborah Love served as a senior executive at Crozer-Keystone Health System, the largest employer and healthcare provider in Delaware County. Throughout her career, she helped guide strategic community health initiatives and oversaw programs that addressed both medical and social needs across the region.

Now retired from her full-time role, Deborah continues to serve the community as an active Board Member of the BPA. Her passion for service and deep connections throughout Delaware County make her a vital contributor to the organization’s mission. She remains committed to supporting local businesses, championing community wellness, and fostering meaningful partnerships.

Olde Ridge Village: Where History Meets Hospitality

Olde Ridge Village has a past as rich as its present. Once part of a 52-acre farmstead in the late 19th century, the land holds deep roots in local heritage. The original yellow farmhouse, built in 1869, still stands today, a testament to the area's enduring charm. Of the original outbuildings, only the wagon house remains, its pegged rafters and brick-and-stone foundation now form the unique interior of one of the Village Shoppes, currently home to GiggyBites Bakery for Dogs.

Ridge Road, once known as Kaolin Road, was a route to the Kaolin Works, which in the 18th and 19th centuries exported prized white potter’s clay around the world. Early settlers such as William Brinton and Francis Chadsey helped establish the area, with Chadsey’s son John founding the first documented ferry across the Brandywine, giving rise to the name “Chadds Ford.”

By the early 1900s, Chadds Ford had become a fashionable summer retreat for city dwellers. Noted illustrator Howard Pyle held a summer art school in a former grist mill, inspiring what became known as the Brandywine School of Art. This legacy continued through three generations of Wyeths: N.C., Andrew, and Jamie.

Today, the Brandywine Valley remains a place of exploration and discovery. Meander down scenic back roads and you’ll still find country inns and colonial paths. Or, follow an old 18th-century road, now just a bit more developed, and discover the charm of Olde Ridge Village Shoppes.

I was born and raised in Delaware County and chose to remain here to raise my family and serve the community that shaped me. My journey began in 1992 at Robert Moreland Funeral Home in Trainer, where I gained the experience and insight that led me to establish Pagano Funeral Home.

In 1999, I purchased land at 3711 Foulk Road, just across from Booth’s Corner Farmers Market, and opened our doors in 2000. From the ground up, I designed the facility to be warm, accessible, and comforting with spacious rooms, a coffee lounge, a supervised children’s area, and the largest funeral parking area in Delaware County.

In 2009, we expanded our facility and added an on-site crematory, ensuring loved ones remain in our care at all times. We are fully licensed in Pennsylvania and Delaware, and provide services 24/7 to meet the needs of all faiths and traditions.

We offer a wide range of services, including traditional funerals, cremations, pre-arrangements, out-of-state transfers, and graveside ceremonies. Our mission is to deliver personal, affordable, and meaningful services with compassion and integrity.

A respected former salon owner, Sofia Clinger built her reputation on delivering full-service hair care with a personal touch. Her dedication to quality service and genuine care for her clients made her a beloved figure in the local business community.

Now retired, Sofia remains deeply involved in community efforts and continues to serve on the BPA Board of Directors. Her passion for connecting people and supporting local initiatives makes her a valued leader and advocate throughout the Delaware County area.
